02.03.2019 – New Testament: Matt 22.43–45
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 22.23–46 on February 3, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019

The Pharisees only thought of the Christ as David’s son. Therefore, when Jesus presented Scripture that showed the Christ over David, they did not know what to say:
He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying:
‘The LORD said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”?
If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his Son?” (Matthew 22.43–45).
LORD in all capitals represents the Father, and Lord in lower case letters represents the Messiah, the Christ, but David referred to Him as, “My Lord.”
- Answer Jesus’ question: How can David call the Christ Lord but the Christ still be the son of David?
- Why did God specify that the Christ would descend from David?
