02.06.2019 – New Testament: Matt 24.22
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 24.1–22 on February 6, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
As the Lord spoke of the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple, accomplished by the Romans, He explained that it would be a horrific time. He said further:
“And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened” (Matthew 24.22).
Whatever He does on the earth or to the earth or for the earth, He keeps His people, His disciples in mind. In this case, the Bible shows that while the Lord carries out punishment, He considers the presence of the elect, and would shorten the days of the battle against Jerusalem.
- How many battles have been fought against Jerusalem?
- Has Jerusalem learned from all those attacks?
- Is Christianity the dominant religion there now?
