03.17.2019 – Old Testament: Deu 30.4–5
To read the Bible in a year, read Deuteronomy 29–30 on March 17, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
The Lord God laid out clearly in the Law of Moses what He would do if Israel persisted in sin, that it would eventually lead to captivity in foreign lands. However, once the people had learned their lesson and repented He could bring them back together again from anywhere:
“If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the LORD your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you. Then the LORD your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers” (Deuteronomy 30.4–5).
What seems impossible to man is child’s play for the Creator of the heavens and the earth. If we want such a God working on our behalf, we have to do what He told the children of Israel to do, repent of our sin and have a heart for the Lord again.
- For whom is your heart reserved?
- Is God happy with having the majority of our hearts?
