The majesty of the God of heaven

Psalms Bible Background

Old Testament: Psa 104.3–4

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 103–104 on August 15, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019

By Don Ruhl

Read Psalm 104 and let it thrill your soul because it speaks of your Creator. Among the things that the psalmist said is this:

He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters,
Who makes the clouds His chariot,
Who walks on the wings of the wind,
Who makes His angels spirits,
His ministers a flame of fire.

– Psalm 104.3–4

Would you picture that in your mind? That shows the Lord in His mighty majesty. See in particular Him walking on the wings of the wind! The Lord walked on the water. He can walk on the wings of the wind!

Questions:

  • What do you see in that passage?
  • What are other ways that you can picture the majesty of the Lord?
