Old Testament: Gen 27.41
To read the Bible in a year, read Genesis 27–28 on January 11, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020
By Don Ruhl
One of the saddest things to see is when brother goes against brother, and sometimes it even goes to the point of death. After Jacob had taken two things from his brother Esau, Esau made plans in his heart:
So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, “The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”
– Genesis 27.41
These men were grandsons of Abraham and sons of Isaac, two of the greatest men who ever lived, yet, Jacob took the birthright from Esau and stole his blessing from their father, leading Esau to plan murder.
Thankfully that never happened, but sometimes it does.
