A person can speak words that so capture your heart that it is impossible to restrain your emotions. Has someone done that to you? If so, be sure to read what Judah said to Joseph in Genesis 44 and then read Genesis 45, which begins in this manner:
Then Joseph could not restrain himself before all those who stood by him, and he cried out, “Make everyone go out from me!” So no one stood with him while Joseph made himself known to his brothers. And he wept aloud, and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard it.
– Genesis 45.1–2
It is one of the most touching scenes in the Bible and perhaps in all of literature. The love that both men had for their father came together in a way that Judah and the other brothers could have never imagined.
Questions:
- What do you think of the story of Joseph?
- Do you think something is wrong when a man pours out his heart?
