New Testament: Matt 19.1–2
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 19.1–15 on January 27, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020
By Don Ruhl
Jesus left Galilee and entered the region of Judea beyond the Jordan. Knowing He was in the area, people went to Him,
Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these sayings, that He departed from Galilee and came to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.
– Matthew 19.1–2
Jesus spent time alone, but He also spent time with people. He was a teacher and a preacher, which requires being with people. I have known of preachers who said they were not people-persons. How can you teach or preach without being with people and loving them? Jesus came to help people. Yes, He came for their spirits, but they had to see that He cared for them and so He helped them in the body, but He never let that detract from what He had to do for the spirit.
- Do you love people as Jesus loved people?
- Do you need time alone for you and God?
- Do you need to be with people?
