Old Testament: Num 9.14
To read the Bible in a year, read Numbers 8–10 on February 23, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020
By Don Ruhl
Observance of the annual Passover among the children of Israel was very important to the Lord God because He wanted them to remember what He had done for them, otherwise, they would still have been slaves in Egypt, and they needed to remember the huge cost to Egypt. Therefore, He said:
“And if a stranger dwells among you, and would keep the LORD’S Passover, he must do so according to the rite of the Passover and according to its ceremony; you shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger and the native of the land.”
– Numbers 9.14
The Lord was pleased if a stranger or foreigner wanted to participate in the Passover, but that stranger had to do as the children of Israel and keep the Passover in the manner that the Lord prescribed.
- How many ordinances were there for the Passover?
- Why would a stranger want to participate in the Passover?
