Old Testament: Num 29.39
To read the Bible in a year, read Numbers 28–29 on March 2, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020
By Don Ruhl
In Numbers 29, the Lord specified what He wanted in sacrifices. Since He created Israel and wanted something from them, He had the right to specify what He wanted:
“These you shall present to the LORD at your appointed feasts (besides your vowed offerings and your freewill offerings) as your burnt offerings and your grain offerings, as your drink offerings and your peace offerings.”
– Numbers 29.39
Worship through sacrifice is not about us; it is not about what we feel, but it is about honoring Him who is worthy of our worship. What Israel wanted to give to the Lord had to fit His nature and those gifts had to please Him.
While we do not offer animals, we still worship the same Lord. Let us offer to Him what He has specified and what is according to His nature.
Questions:
- How did many offerings did Moses write about in that verse?
- What do Christians offer to the Lord?
