Old Testament: 1Sa 23.6
To read the Bible in a year, read First Samuel 22–24 on April 17, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020
By Don Ruhl
A priest helped David, but when Saul heard about it, he determined to kill that priest and all the other priests living in that town, plus their wives and children. However, one man managed to escape:
Now it happened, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David at Keilah, that he went down with an ephod in his hand.
– 1 Samuel 23.6
Not only was it important that this man escaped, but that he also brought with him an ephod. Later, David would use this to communicate with the Lord. Abiathar knew that he had something valuable for David, and so he brought it.
If you have something that can help a worker for the Lord, do not hold it back, but use it or give it ultimately for the glory of God.
- Who was Abiathar’s father?
- What is an ephod?
- What is in an ephod?
