Old Testament: Neh 8.1
To read the Bible in a year, read Nehemiah 7–8 on June 18, In the year of our Lord 2020
By Don Ruhl
The story of the Old Testament prophets is that they had to tell the people to come back to the Law, but after the people had suffered horribly for going astray, they finally got the message and look what they did after the Babylonian captivity:
Now all the people gathered together as one man in the open square that was in front of the Water Gate; and they told Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded Israel.
– Nehemiah 8.1
Wonderful! They told Ezra to bring out the Book of the Law! They wanted him to read from it to them. They wanted to know what the Lord had to say. May God bless us with multitudes of people today with the same spirit.
