New Testament: Acts 12.15
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 12 on July 4, In the year of our Lord 2020
By Don Ruhl
Peter was in prison for teaching in the name of Jesus. The church got together and prayed for him. The Lord sent an angel to free Peter. He went to the very place where they were praying and he knocked on the door, but a girl did not open for him because she recognized his voice and out of excitement went to tell everyone.
But they said to her, “You are beside yourself!” Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, “It is his angel.”
– Acts 12.15
She kept insisting that it was Peter, but they kept insisting that it could not be him! Amazing! What else could she do? Others heard Peter’s knocking and opened the door and found out that the girl was right.
If you know you are right, you have to insist on it and no one may believe you, but in time something will happen to show that you are right.
- Have you ever been slow to believe that your prayers have been answered?
- How do you react when people will not believe you?
