New Testament: Matt 14.28–29
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 14.22–36 on January 20, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021
By Don Ruhl
Jesus walked on water, but so did another man. The second man walked on water because he challenged the Lord Jesus. After the disciples saw Jesus walking on water, they feared, but Jesus reassured them that it was Him and not a ghost.
And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
– Matthew 14.28–29
Peter was right, that if it was the Lord, He should be able to command Peter to go to Him on the water. Sure enough, Jesus merely said, “Come,” and Peter obeyed the Lord and walked on water. What an amazing experience that must have been.
Questions:
- Do you obey the Lord as Peter did but with other commands of the Lord?
- Do you believe Jesus is Lord?
- If so, how do you show it?
