New Testament: Matt 23.11–12
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 23.1–22 on February 4, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021
By Don Ruhl
That Jesus values humility should not surprise us, because He performed a great act of humility by leaving His exalted status in heaven and living and dying on the earth. He taught:
“But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
– Matthew 23.11–12
He practiced what He preached. What He spoke is the truth. Try it and see what happens, whether it is true or not.
Questions:
- Do you have what it takes to be humble in a world that values self-exaltation?
- Have you exalted someone who humbled himself?
