New Testament: Matt 27.49
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 27.32–66 on February 14, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021
By Don Ruhl
The Jewish leaders hated Jesus so much that, even as he was dying during the crucifixion, they still could not show a little compassion.
After someone gave Jesus sour wine to drink, the leaders intervened, saying,
“Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to save Him.”
– Matthew 27.49
He was dying, but they did not even want to allow him to have any fluid during his severe dehydration. Their hatred for him overruled any compassion that might have resided in their hearts.
Questions:
- Have you ever had that much hate in your heart?
- If you did, but do not now, what did you do to get rid of the hate?
