New Testament: Luke 8.41–42
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 8.22–56 on April 2, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021
By Don Ruhl
A man in charge of a synagogue had a daughter who was dying. Therefore, he went to Jesus, knowing that He could help:
And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged Him to come to his house, for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him.
– Luke 8.41–42
Did you watch what the ruler of the synagogue did? He fell down before Jesus, right at His feet, and then the ruler begged! He had good reason for doing so, because his only daughter, who was only 12 years old, was dying.
Questions:
- What did other people do as He headed toward the home of this ruler?
- What was the father’s name?
