New Testament: Luke 17.25
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 17.20–37 on April 20, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021
By Don Ruhl
Jesus warned His disciples that when He returns, no one will have to point Him out, because it will be a sight seen from one part under heaven to the other part under heaven (Luke 17.22–24).
However, before that awesome event can take place, he revealed something about himself:
“But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.”
– Luke 17.25
Did that generation reject Him and subject Him to much suffering? Oh, yes those things happened.
In Second Thessalonians 2, Paul also revealed a couple of things that had to take place before Jesus can return, and my belief is that those things have happened.
When shall the Lord return? We do not know, but we do know that at least some things prior to His return have already occurred. The big question is: Are you ready for His return?
Questions:
- What are all the things that Jesus suffered at the hands of that generation?
- What do you need to do to get ready for the return of Christ?
