He who has declared the Father

New Testament: John 1.18

To read the Bible in a year, read John 1.1–28 on May 7, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021

As you read the Gospel According to John, note how often Jesus speaks of the Father. Also, observe what he says about the Father and the relationship that the two have. It will not surprise you because you will read the following at the beginning, and John shows Jesus doing just as John spoke here:

No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

– John 1.18

Since we have not seen God, namely, the Father, we have to hear the Son declare him, and the Son is capable of a full declaration of the Father because the Son is in the bosom of the Father, just as close to the Father as is possible.

  • What have you learned from Jesus about the Father?
  • Is God your Father?
