Elijah was a man of God. That means he based his life on God. Therefore, whatever God told him to do, he did it, and for that, he had everything that he needed in life:
So he went and did according to the word of the LORD, for he went and stayed by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook. And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
– 1 Kings 17.5–7
Elijah did not question whether the Lord would be able to provide for him, but the prophet just simply did what he was told, and the God of heaven and earth provided for his needs.
He has also promised to meet our needs. Do you believe that God can and will fill your needs? Do you go forth living and doing God’s will, knowing that he will sustain you, even under the most difficult of circumstances?
