King Solomon wrote to King Hiram of Tyre, asking for workers and material for building the temple of God in Jerusalem. When the king of Tyre heard the words of Solomon and what he proposed to do, observe the first thing that King Hiram said. The Bible says:
Then Hiram king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon: “Because the LORD loves His people, He has made you king over them.”
– 2 Chronicles 2.11
King Hiram’s words show his perceptive wisdom in that he understood or recognized a sign of God’s love for Israel by placing a king over his people, because Solomon, even in his youth and inexperience, was proving to be a wise king and one who sought to honor God.
God shows his love toward mankind and toward the church in numerous and varied ways. Keep your eyes and ears open to discover the manifold love of God, not only in your own life but in the life of the world.
