New Testament: Acts 10.42–43
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 10.24–48 on July 2, In the year of our Lord 2021
By Don Ruhl
As Peter preached to Cornelius and his family and friends, he declared what Jesus had commanded the apostles to do:
“And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.”
– Acts 10.42–43
Jesus commanded those first preachers to announce what He is the Judge of the living and the dead, yet, in Jesus we find forgiveness. As the Judge, He can condemn or forgive. Why will He do one with a certain person, but do the other with another person? The difference is whether you believe in Him.
- Do you believe in Jesus?
- Have you been baptized for the forgiveness of your sins?
