New Testament: Heb 9.23
To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 9 on November 12, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021
By Don Ruhl
You have undoubtedly seen paintings of either the tabernacle or the temple and seen how beautiful they must have been. Yet, they were only copies of the true temple in heaven:
Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
– Hebrews 9.23
The writer was making the point that what was on earth merely served as a copy of what is the true temple in heaven, and therefore, the earthly temple, while cleansed by animal blood that came up short, and the heavenly temple was cleansed with greater blood, the blood of Christ.
None of us have seen Solomon’s temple, but if we follow the Lord we shall see that temple someday. How magnificent that will be.
Questions:
- What else do you look forward to seeing in heaven?
- Do you know for sure that you are going to heaven?
