Old Testament: Lev 19.16
To read the Bible in a year, read Leviticus 18–19 on February 14, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
If only the news media and the political world knew what the Lord forbids, because what we shall read is ignored by most in the news and politics:
“You shall not go about as a talebearer among your people; nor shall you take a stand against the life of your neighbor: I am the LORD.”
– Leviticus 19.16
If you have ever had someone bear a tale about you, or what we often call gossip, you would know the wisdom of this passage. People can either twist things that they have heard or some will just make up something that has no basis in reality, yet, there will be plenty of people who will believe it, even people who know you and the kind of person that you are.
Do not in anyway slander someone nor stand against them when you have no justifiable cause for doing so, because as that sentence from Leviticus 19 declared, the Lord is the one who spoke this truth, implying that he will render punishment to the one who does slander.
Questions:
- Has someone slandered you?
- Have you slandered someone?
- If so, did you correct it?
