New Testament: Matt 27.50
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 27.32–66 on February 14, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
Men thought that they killed Jesus, but truly he died when he was ready to die, because he has the power to retain the spirit in the body or to release it from the body. Watch him as he breathed his last:
And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.
– Matthew 27.50
The darkest day in history occurred on that day, for puny creatures sought to kill their Creator, but they did not know that he submitted to them that he might save them from their sin.
He cried out and at that moment, he gave up his spirit and he entered the Hadean world to stay there until three days had passed, and then the brightest day in history happened when he rose from the dead.
Questions:
- Do you know from the other Gospel Accounts what Jesus cried out?
- Who has the keys of Hades and of Death?
