Bind the strong man

New Testament: Mark 3.27

To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 3.22–35 on February 20, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

By Don Ruhl

Satan possessed people in the first century and Jesus cast him out of people, explaining:

“No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.”

– Mark 3.27

Before Jesus could possess that person, he had to cast out Satan, the strong man. Likewise, if we want Jesus to live in our hearts, we have to kick out the devil, making up our minds what kind of people we want to be.

Questions:

  • Do you want to be wicked or righteous?
  • What are you doing to kick out the devil from your life?
