New Testament: Luke 9.24
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 9.1–36 on April 3, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
Jesus taught something remarkable, which must have puzzled people the first time he said it, for I know it puzzled me when I first learned of it. However, once I did what he taught, it made sense:
“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.”
– Luke 9.24
How can you find your life by losing it? The key is that he said by losing it for his sake, we will find it.
Once I became a Christian and learned to apply the teaching of Scripture to my life and to understand what Scripture said, my life became what the Lord wanted it to be all along. I no longer live for myself, but for him, and in so doing I found my purpose in life and that gives me a new view on life.
When I died to myself being the lord and accepted the Lordship of Jesus the Christ, my view of everything changed, for the better.
- Have you lost your life for the sake of Christ?
- Have you been buried in the waters of baptism?
