New Testament: Acts 7.60
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 7.44–60 on June 26, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
As the Jews were stoning Stephen to death, the man had a heart full of mercy and love for his executioners, as you will see:
Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
– Acts 7.60
He wanted the Lord not to charge these men with killing him! That is truly amazing! It amazes us, because we want vengeance on those people, but if we have the heart of Jesus, who asked God to forgive his executioners, then we will look forward to forgiving those who hate us.
Questions:
- Have you prayed for the people who despise you?
- What do you want for those who seek to hurt you?
