Questions can open doors

New Testament: Acts 10.21

To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 10.1–23 on July 1, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

By Don Ruhl

An angel instructed Cornelius to send men to Joppa to get Peter, who would come to the home of the Roman officer and speak words of salvation.

When the men arrived where Peter was staying, he began everything with a question:

Then Peter went down to the men who had been sent to him from Cornelius, and said, “Yes, I am he whom you seek. For what reason have you come?”

– Acts 10.21

They explained why they had gone to him and that started everything that led to the conversion of Cornelius and his family and friends.

If you know that someone is searching, just figure out a question to ask and you will know what to say.

Questions:

  • Why did the angel have Peter preach the Gospel instead of doing it himself?
  • If you are a Christian, why are you still on earth? (See Ephesians 2.10.)
