When God first created the world and man, death was not part of the natural order. Death is an intruder, introduced unwittingly by man: 

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—

– Romans 5.12 

Sin did not come into the world alone, but death followed closely on the heels of it, and death brought all suffering into the world. When the Bible warns us about sin, we need to believe everything the Bible says and make every effort to avoid sin.
