God humbles the exalted and exalts the humbled

Old Testament: Psa 107.39–41

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 107–108 on August 17, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

By Don Ruhl

God teaches people lessons. Sometimes He does it by reversing their life situation. Psalm 107 says:

When they are diminished and brought low
Through oppression, affliction and sorrow,
He pours contempt on princes,
And causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way;
Yet He sets the poor on high, far from affliction,
And makes their families like a flock.

– Psalm 107.39–41

History shows plenty of princes or prince-like people being humbled, and history shows plenty of poor people sitting in high places where no one ever imagined that they would be.

May the Lord be praised for it.

  • What has God taught you in life?
  • Has He humbled you?
  • Has He exalted you?
