Temptation often catches us unaware, but that does not mean God has abandoned us. Truly, we should always be ready for temptation to come our way, and at the same time we should prepare ourselves to find a way out of it, as Paul wrote: 

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

– 1 Corinthians 10.13 

God knows what our abilities are and are not, and he only allows temptations that will not overtake us, but he will make sure that there is a way of escape. Keep your eyes open.
