Old Testament: Pro 17.8
To read the Bible in a year, read Proverbs 17–18 on September 10, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
You know the people. They never give to you in any way, but they always want something from you. It gets old after awhile and you are not as open to them, as were you at the first. They wonder why people have problems with them.
Then there is another group. They rarely want anything from you because they are givers. That makes you willing to do anything for them. Perhaps that is why Solomon said:
A present is a precious stone in the eyes of its possessor;
Wherever he turns, he prospers.
– Proverbs 17.8
The one with a present, the giver, finds the way of life prosperous before him because he gives, and he finds out that he always receives more than he gives. God and men bless such a person.
Questions:
- Are you a taker or a giver?
- Do you want people to bless you or do you look for ways to bless them?
