Exercise faithfulness toward those for whom you work

Old Testament: Pro 25.13

To read the Bible in a year, read Proverbs 25–27 on September 14, In the year of our Lord 2022

By Don Ruhl

Someone sent you on an errand, which might have been to report on how things were going elsewhere. If you executed that job faithfully, you blessed the one who sent you,

Like the cold of snow in time of harvest
Is a faithful messenger to those who send him,
For he refreshes the soul of his masters.

– Proverbs 25.13

To have a cold drink, such as water runoff from snow, while working during the heat of harvest, it will refresh your spirit. Likewise, you refresh the soul of the one who sent you to do a job.

Questions:

  • Do you do faithfully do what others ask you to do?
  • How do you feel when someone you send does what they were supposed to do?
