What the Christian life is

New Testament: Phi 1.21

To read the Bible in a year, read Philippians 1 on October 5, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

By Don Ruhl

From prison, Paul wrote to the Philippian church that he knew he would get out of prison, whether by the normal means of the government releasing a prisoner, or by death. He was okay with either option, for as he said:

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

– Philippians 1.21

Is that not how we should all think? We live for Christ, but then when we die we go to be with him. We win whether we live or die.

Questions:

  • Why do you live?
  • Do you fear dying?
