New Testament: Phi 2.28
To read the Bible in a year, read Philippians 2 on October 6, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
Most congregations love their preacher and when he goes away, they miss him and feel better when he returns.
This was the case for the Philippian church. Their preacher had been with Paul, but became sick and the Philippians grew concerned about him. Therefore, Paul sent him back to the congregation:
Therefore I sent him the more eagerly, that when you see him again you may rejoice, and I may be less sorrowful.
– Philippians 2.28
It distressed Paul that news of the illness of Epaphroditus distressed the Philippians. Therefore, the best thing for all parties involved, was to send him back to his home congregation.
