New Testament: Phi 3.2–3
To read the Bible in a year, read Philippians 3 on October 7, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
Dangers exist for the Christian. Therefore, Paul warned us:
Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!
– Philippians 3.2
However, having a spirit of suspicion should not characterize a Christian. There are things we should do rather than simply avoiding every thing. Paul continued:
For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
– Philippians 3.3
Beware of the dangers but live optimistically, full of hope, with an upbeat spirit, and then you shall truly live in abundance, and not merely be avoiding something dangerous.
Questions:
- What did Paul mean by “dogs”?
- Why should we not have confidence in the flesh?
