New Testament: Col 1.24–26
To read the Bible in a year, read Colossians 1 on October 9, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
How did the news about Jesus Christ, and all that comes with him, spread so quickly in the first century? For one thing, there were people like Paul who labored in the following manner:
I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.
– Colossians 1.24–26
Paul suffered, as you no doubt know, but he did it all for the sake of the body of Christ. God gave Paul a stewardship and Paul was faithful to it, doing did his best, with God’s help, to spread the Gospel in the Mediterranean world.
Questions:
- What are you doing to spread the Good News about Jesus?
- Are you a member of the church?
