State your case before the Lord

Old Testament: Isa 43.25–26

To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 43–44 on October 10, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

By Don Ruhl

The Lord seeks to forgive us of our sins. Yes, he will eventually punish sin, that of the sinners who do not repent, but what he desires is for man to find forgiveness. He said in Isaiah:

“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake;
And I will not remember your sins.
Put Me in remembrance;
Let us contend together;
State your case, that you may be acquitted.”

– Isaiah 43.25–26

Listen to what the Lord said. He is the one who blots out our transgressions and does not want to remember our sins.

He told Israel to state their case, because he wanted to acquit them!

We serve a generous and kind God.

Questions:

  • Have you sought the Lord’s forgiveness?
  • Have you talked to the Lord about why you sin?
