Old Testament: Isa 63.11–13
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 62–64 on October 17, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
The children of Israel had wandered far from the Lord, but at some point they would think on their magnificent history:
Then he remembered the days of old,
Moses and his people, saying:
“Where is He who brought them up out of the sea
With the shepherd of His flock?
Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within them,
Who led them by the right hand of Moses,
With His glorious arm,
Dividing the water before them
To make for Himself an everlasting name,
Who led them through the deep,
As a horse in the wilderness,
That they might not stumble?”
– Isaiah 63.11–13
Just thinking back to their deliverance from the Egyptian army by means of the dividing of the Red Sea, made them long for those times, and for the One who made it all possible. They wanted Him back and they wanted to return to Him.
Think back on the wonderful things the Lord has done for you and you will long for Him and want to serve Him.
Questions:
- What has the Lord done for you?
- How have you responded to what He did?
