Jeremiah had a hard message for his brethren, and they would not like what he had to say from the mouth of the Lord, nevertheless, the prophet had to speak: 

“So you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. You shall call to them, but they will not answer you.”

– Jeremiah 7.27 

It is hard to keep going when you see little progress or nothing productive from your efforts, but remembering that the Lord told you to do it, you keep pressing on.
