The Lord by the Holy Spirit used certain men to deliver to us what He wanted us to know. Therefore, we do not need to add anything to the message, because the Lord has revealed all the truth. That being the case, Paul told Timothy: 

But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.

– 2 Timothy 2.16 

There are just some discussions to avoid because they do not lead to anything good, but can even lead to ungodliness, and we do not need anymore ungodliness in this world.
