New Testament: Heb 1.11–12
To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 1 on November 4, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
As the writer of the Book of Hebrews showed how Jesus is superior to the angels, he quoted Psalm 102, saying that it spoke of the Lord, not of angels:
“They will perish, but You remain;
And they will all grow old like a garment;
Like a cloak You will fold them up,
And they will be changed.
But You are the same,
And Your years will not fail.”
– Hebrews 1.11–12
The earth and the heavens (verse 10), grow old just as our clothing does, and even as we throw away our old, worn out clothing, so the Lord will one day get rid of the current heavens and earth, but he himself remains the same because the passage of time has no affect on him.
Questions:
- What is the longest that you have kept and continued to wear a piece of clothing?
- What amazes you most about the nature of God?
