Let us grow

New Testament: Hebrews 6.1–3

To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 6 on November 9, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

By Don Ruhl

Some Christians are content with knowing just enough to be saved and beyond that, they have no interest. That is to their shame. Do you want your children to remain little children forever? You enjoy them at that age, but then, you realize it is time for them to grow up. God looks at His children the same way. For this reason, He had a Bible writer put down on paper:

Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits.

– Hebrews 6.1–3

Are you content with your spiritual development? If so, why? Do you not want to grow? Seek to learn more and to become more like our Teacher Jesus Christ. Learn to live as He lived, always remembering that for the entirety of your life, you are a disciple of Christ.

Questions:

  • Have you grown as a Christian since you became one?
  • In what areas do you need growth the most?
