New Testament: Heb 11.14
To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 11.1–19 on November 15, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
The writer of the Book of Hebrews listed various people who lived by faith, but who did not receive the promises. They confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth, which is why they did not receive the promises, but then the writer said:
For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland.
– Hebrews 11.14
When people such as Abraham confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims upon the earth, they thereby declared that they were looking elsewhere for a homeland, and nowhere upon this earth would they find that homeland.
Questions:
- Where would they find that homeland?
- Are you doing the same and thinking the same?
