How the death of an ungodly man affected Ezekiel

Old Testament: Eze 11.13

To read the Bible in a year, read Ezekiel 10–12 on November 15, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

By Don Ruhl

The Spirit revealed to Ezekiel the princes in Judah who had devised iniquity and wicked counsel for the nation (Ezekiel 11.1–2). Then one of them died, but notice what Ezekiel did:

Now it happened, while I was prophesying, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell on my face and cried with a loud voice, and said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Will You make a complete end of the remnant of Israel?”

– Ezekiel 11.13

Although this leader in Judah had devised iniquity and gave wicked counsel, he was still a brother in Israel, and Pelatiah represented Judah. Ezekiel had respect for the position or office that Pelatiah held.
