New Testament: Rev 5.6
To read the Bible in a year, read Revelation 5 on December 14, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
As John witnessed spectacular sights around the throne of God, John also saw a scroll that no one could open. He wept when he saw that, but one of the human elders surrounding the throne, comforted John, letting him know that the Lion of Judah had prevailed to open the scroll. Then John saw:
And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
– Revelation 5.6
Suddenly something appeared, or John noticed something he had not seen before, a Lamb, although John had been expecting to see a Lion. The Lamb looked as though it had been slain, but it was very much alive, for it stood and had seven horns and seven eyes. The rest of the Book of Revelation will show that this Lamb was very much alive.
John knew who that Lamb was.
Questions:
- Do you know who the Lamb is?
- Do you know what that means for you, that the Lamb of God was slain, but lives forever?
