Some people sin even more when they suffer

New Testament: Rev 16.20–21

To read the Bible in a year, read Revelation 16 on December 25, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

By Don Ruhl

Revelation 9.20–21 shows people refusing to repent even after God punishes them, and Revelation 16.20–21 shows it again:

Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.

– Revelation 16.20–21

You would think that they would repent, but as Paul taught in Romans 6, when people live in sin, they become the slaves of King Sin, and even suffering for their sin will not turn them, unless of course, they turn their hearts to Jesus the Christ who then becomes their new King.

Questions:

  • Have you submitted yourself fully to King Jesus?
  • Do you still struggle with overcoming certain sins?
