This is not meant to make any disciple of Christ arrogant, but we need to understand just who we are in this world and how much influence we have. Jesus taught:
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
– Matthew 5.14–16
When the news reports on what affects a nation, they will speak of the economy, the weather, politics, and as you know, many other things. Do they ever consider the presence of followers of Christ within their borders? Yet, according to the Lord of heaven and earth, we are the light of the world!
Questions:
- Do you do good works?
- What can you do today for someone?
