Old Testament: Exo 34.30
To read the Bible in a year, read Exodus 34–36 on February 4, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023
By Don Ruhl
Moses stood in the presence of God himself. How did that affect Moses? How would it affect you? One thing it did, could be seen on his face:
So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.
– Exodus 34.30
How often have you seen a man’s face shine with light after being in the presence of God? First, no one has been in his presence in the way that Moses had been. Second, that would mean that we have never seen anyone with a face like the face of Moses, glowing with glory.
So then, I think we would have been like the children of Israel and we would have been afraid. Israel already feared being near God and wanted Moses to go to speak God. Yet, when he returned from God’s presence, it showed up on his face.
- Will we see God’s face ever?
- Do you imagine what his face looks like?
