New Testament: Mark 4.33
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 4.21–41 on February 22, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023
By Don Ruhl
As the Creator, Jesus could have overwhelmed with knowledge the people to whom he preached and taught. What good would that have done? It would not have done any good, but would probably have discouraged everyone from following him.
Therefore, Mark wrote:
And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it.
– Mark 4.33
Jesus spoke as people were able to hear it. We should follow his example. When we find someone who is interested in the Bible, our excitement can get the best of us and we give them too much information, and then wonder why they do not seek more.
Perhaps we overwhelmed them. It is best to give them a little that they might want more.
Questions:
- How did the one who taught you present biblical information to you?
- Have you learned to state things as briefly as possible?
